Millsaps announces 'Major Minds of Mississippi' scholarship program | News

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Millsaps College has announced a new scholarship program for Mississippi students entering college in Fall 2013.

The Major Minds of Mississippi Scholarship Program encourages high-achieving Mississippi students to stay in the state, according to the college.

Eligible students will be awarded atleast $22,000 per year in scholarship funds, which is more than two-thirds the cost of tuition and fees.

Any student who is admitted to Millsaps College is eligible for the scholarship program if he or she:

• has a 3.80 unweighted grade point average in high school (as of end of junior year)
• achieved a composite score of 28 or higher on the ACT OR a 1260 composite score (critical reading + math) on the SAT (scores can be from multiple test dates)
• and is a resident of the state of Mississippi

Students will be automatically considered for the scholarship program when they apply for admission to the college.
